Careganic.com (“Careganic”, “we”, “us”, “our” and terms of similar meaning) take  your privacy rights very seriously. We are committed to transparently describing our privacy practices, including how we collect, use and disclose your information and data as part of providing the Service, as defined in our Careganic Terms and Conditions which is found on our website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Our primary purpose in collecting personal and/or business information from you is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. This allows us to provide services and features that most likely meet your needs, and to customize our service to make your experience safer and easier. We only collect personal and/or business information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this purpose.

Personal and Identifying Information

In general, you can browse the public facing sections of our Website and/or Applications without telling us who you are or revealing any personal or business information about yourself. However, in order to use the Service, you must register for an Account. When registering for an Account, you must provide various contact and identity information and other personal and/or business information as requested or where indicated on the Service. At this time, you are no longer anonymous to us. Where possible, on these forms we indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional. In addition, as you use the Service, you can from time to time enter or send to us personally and/or business information. This may include information that you share through the Service with us and/or other users. 

You represent that you have the right and authority or have obtained all necessary consents to provide any information, including any personal information of another individual or corporate information, that is provided by you to Careganic

Professional Member and customer

As a professional member, in order to use and while using the Service, you may be required to provide, among other information and documentation, your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, password, photo and other personal and identifying information (as set forth in the Terms and through the Service). As described in our Terms, you may also be required to submit additional Verifying Information, which may include, without limitation, your criminal record, current vulnerable sector police checks, up-to-date immunization records, criminal background check documentation, current registration with the applicable provincial licensing authority, diplomas and certificates, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) cards and food handling certificate. In addition, we may perform our own criminal background checks, other searches and verification checks.

Payment Method

If you have registered for an Account, we may collect your credit card, other payment and/or banking information. When you add a credit card, payment method and/or banking information to your Account, such information may be shared with our third-party payment processor(s). We do not store credit card, other payment and/or banking information on our servers. The payment request is only available through our website and will not be utilized in our ios application. 

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

We will share your personal and/or business information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy, the Terms and in accordance with your consent. We will not sell or rent your personally or business identifiable information to third parties without your explicit consent. Sharing Between Users. Clients and Professional member that have been connected for a booking will be able to see basic information about each other, including, as applicable, names, photos, ratings, Verifying Information and any other information added to a user profile or to a Posting. 

Public Areas of the Service. All user activities in the public areas of the Service will be identifiable to your Account (username), and all users can see your published content.

Law and Harm; Jurisdictions. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this policy, we may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect our or any other person’s rights or property. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We keep your personal and/or business information for as long as it is required for the purposes for which it was collected, which is determined in our sole discretion, in accordance with the applicable laws. Please see our Terms for more information on what we do with your User Content when your account is terminated with us.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Correcting and Updating Your Personal and/or Business Information

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of eighteen (18). Careganic does not target its Service to children under eighteen (18). Careganic does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of eighteen (18).

How we protect your data

Your Account is protected by a password for your privacy and security. You must prevent unauthorized access to your account by selecting and protecting your password appropriately, and limiting access to your device.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Careganic may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. The use of information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy and Terms in effect at the time the information is used. If we make any material changes in the way we use your personal and/or business information or data, we will notify you by (i) posting a notice on the Applications and/or Website; or (ii) sending you an email at the address registered on your Account or provided in your Registration Data. Users are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy and Terms when they use the Service after such changes have been first posted.
